Our UK readers and a select few otherwise will know Charlie Brooker from his Screenwipe TV series (and even more should know him for his hipster-eviscerating Nathan Barley and his excellent Big Brother/zombie apocalypse mashup mini-series Dead Set), but he’s someone you’ll probably be hearing much more about soon as he announces that his new series Gameswipe has officially been completed.

Sporting a heroin-chic-weathered ‘body’ decal that likely won’t be working its way backward into the company’s toy line, French game news site JeuxVideo gets the first look at Iggy Pop’s appearance in TT/Harmonix’s upcoming Lego Rock Bandclick through for the full plastic performance of The Passenger. Fortuitously found in very timely fashion after stumbling across his new Twin Peaks 20th Anniversary art show print: SMB-WTC 1-1, by Austin artist Tim Doyle (previously mentioned for his Punch-Out at the Last Supper), available in three colorways from Nakatomi, and offered here without any further commentary, which I’ll leave entirely for you to do, should you so choose.

Not the Virtual Boy kind, but the Mr. Pitt’s obsession kind. It’s fully playable and works, actually, mostly, though tracking vertical alignment while consistently keeping your eyes crossed ups the ante considerably. [via Coudal]

By way of members of the International House of Mojo comes this teased screenshot from a soon-to-be-announced (as in, today) LucasArts game. Pieced together from various clues left on the LucasArts Workshop blog throughout PAX, the image hints at a style of game not created by LucasArts in quite some time.

[Brandon adds: as hinted at in the title, Joystiq’s ongoing coverage of the recently filed Lucas trademark Lucidity seems to be the best guess as to what the game will be when it’s later revealed.]

The Path and The Graveyard developers Tale of Tales reveal that Silent Hill lead artist Takayoshi Sato has designed, modeled and textured the lead in the studio’s previously mentioned, Wilde-inspired game Fatale, which retells the seductive ‘dance of seven veils’ Salome performed for her step-father so he would agree to behead John the Baptist. Follow Tale of Tales’ progress via their official Fatale site.

Microsoft sets up a charity auction for this Beatles: Rock Band painted Xbox 360, to benefit Doctors Without Borders, the same charity receiving a cut of your “All You Need Is Love” Rock Band download, which doing so — completing the loop — will also enter you into a contest to win one of these Beatles: Rock Band painted Xbox 360s.

Limited edition consoles might not be my usual beat, but I’m mentioning this here because I still contend Passion Picture’s cinematic — from which the design is lifted — is one of the most fantastically surreal game intros of all time.
